Job summary

McNICHOLS is seeking an experienced Human Resource Generalist to support our corporate HR team, serving 325 associates across 20 locations nationwide. You will handle onboarding, benefits enrollment, leave management, payroll processing, records maintenance, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of HR experience, working knowledge of employment law, HRIS proficiency, and a dedication to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of HR experience with a broad range of responsibilities including payroll, benefits, leave administration, and HR compliance.
• Knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
• Exceptional ability to maintain confidential employee records and handle sensitive information.
• Advanced proficiency with HRIS and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR administration, ensuring accurate employee records and data management.
• Process employee lifecycle transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, leaves, separations, and organizational updates.
• Maintain HRIS records, personnel files, and compliance documentation.
• Support employee engagement initiatives that strengthen morale, culture, retention, and team effectiveness.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, leave programs, and workplace resources.
• Administer leave of absence programs, coordinating documentation, tracking, return-to-work activities, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate benefits administration activities and support annual enrollment programs and employee education sessions.
• Support audits related to 401k, payroll, I-9 documentation, employee records, and other compliance requirements.
• Assist with workers' compensation claims, including reporting, documentation, tracking, and coordination with claim representatives.
• Coordinate onboarding programs, new hire orientations, informational meetings, and employee communications.
• Partner with managers to support performance management.
• Maintain HR communication boards and wellness information.
• Process payroll as a secondary resource as needed.
• Contribute to special projects and other HR initiatives as needed.
