Job summary

Insteel Industries seeks a Plant General Manager to direct manufacturing operations, drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement while coordinating with product and sales leaders to meet business goals. You will oversee engineering, maintenance, and capital expenditures, applying strong leadership and CI approaches in a heavy manufacturing setting.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 7 years of relevant experience, and strong communication,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional, technical, or administrative training.
• Broad knowledge of a general technical field, such as Business Administration, Industrial Management, or Industrial Engineering.
• Working knowledge of computers and business software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant manufacturing from raw materials to finished products, ensuring safety, quality and productivity.
• Manage budgets, scheduling, spending variances, and cost controls; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with product and national sales managers to align production with business plans and profitability.
• Supervise engineering, maintenance, CAPEX, product development, and CI processes; evaluate equipment for improvements.
• Adhere to Zero Harm principles; apply broad business administration and industrial management knowledge to duties.
