Pratt Industries in Cedar Hill, TX seeks a hands-on Superintendent to lead the Converting Department, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient production. You’ll guide Supervisors and hourly teams across shifts, maintain floor presence, and partner with Maintenance and Scheduling to meet schedules and plant standards.

This role emphasizes coaching, performance evaluations, onboarding, and continuous improvement while upholding safety culture and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; additional education or technical training preferred.
• Minimum supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading production teams across multiple shifts.
• Corrugated or converting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, safety, quality.
• Strong communication, coaching, and employee relations skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build effective working relationships across departments and hold teams accountable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Supervisors and hourly employees across all shifts, ensuring safety, quality, production, and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, providing real-time operational oversight and support to the Converting team.
• Coordinate the performance of all shifts to ensure production schedules and department goals are met safely and efficiently.
• Communicate plant standards, production expectations, and priorities clearly to the Converting team.
• Work closely with Scheduling, Maintenance, and other departments to coordinate production needs and address issues that affect department performance.
• Monitor production performance and communicate significant concerns to plant leadership.
• Ensure appropriate staffing, training, and cross-training within the department.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support employee development.
• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance with Maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure issues are addressed promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, waste reduction, and equipment reliability.
• Participate in Safety Committee and promote safety culture.
