Geisinger is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician Lab Assistant II to collect, accession, and process patient specimens across Laboratory Medicine. You will perform venipunctures and skin punctures, ensure correct specimen identification, and handle specimens safely in a clinical setting.

You will prepare specimens, deliver them to testing areas, and maintain logs and quality control. Opportunities include mentoring students and supporting homebound patients as needed.

Formación

• Certified phlebotomy technician required or equivalent.
• Graduate of NAACLS approved phlebotomy program.
• One year related experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures per guidelines.
• Accession and process specimens with correct ID.
• Safely handle infectious materials and comply with regs.
• Prepare, centrifuge, aliquot, and label specimens.
• Deliver specimens to testing areas promptly.
• Maintain logs and QC procedures; mentor staff.
• Assist with homebound phlebotomy as needed.
• Complete competency exams and continuing education.
