Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Phlebotomist II to perform venipunctures and skin punctures across all ages, from neonates to adults, ensuring high-quality specimens for testing. You\'ll process specimens, register patients, assist with billing, and support accessioning with accuracy.

Expect to work in a clinical setting with strong emphasis on patient comfort, compliance with policies, and collaboration with medical group offices. Experience or graduation from Geisinger\'s Phlebotomy program is valued.

Qualifications

• Performs venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to CLSI guidelines.
• 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience or graduate of Geisinger\'s School of Phlebotomy Program.
• Ability to obtain blood specimens from neonates through adults.
• Adheres to policies and procedures and maintains accuracy in specimen handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens.
• Ensure accurate patient identification during accessioning and processing.
• Operate and navigate multiple computer systems to register patients and support billing.
• Maintain quality control and troubleshoot instrument issues as assigned.
• Provide compassionate communication and explain the blood draw process to patients.
