Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Phlebotomy Apprentice to train in daily phlebotomy activities at the Patient Service Center or In-office Phlebotomy settings. The role focuses on interacting professionally with clients, patients, and PathGroup personnel while performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include learning proper collection techniques, safety, patient comfort, accurate specimen handling, and precise data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of health care environment experience preferred.
• Ability to perform venipunctures and explain the process clearly.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate electronic data entry.
• Familiar with PPE and laboratory safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn proper phlebotomy collection techniques and safety.
• Volunteer for venipunctures and assist coworkers as needed.
• Greet customers in person or by phone and provide courteous service.
• Collect specimens according to procedures and explain the venipuncture process to patients.
• Enter patient and order data into the lab computer system with accuracy.
