Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily client-facing and specimen collection duties in the PSC or in-office setting. You will handle phlebotomy and processing tasks following established procedures with accuracy and professionalism.

You will interact with patients and PathGroup staff, maintain records, and support clerical duties while adhering to safety and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (may be required based on state and laboratory guidelines).
• Phlebotomist Certification is preferred. (Required in Louisiana).

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and maintains courteous service.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens and explains venipuncture process clearly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Disposes of biohazardous fluids and contaminated sharps per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance and billing information with attention to detail.
• Matches requisition forms to specimens and handles labeling, processing, and transport.
• Maintains records and daily PSC/IOPST logs; assists with monthly statistics.
