Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities and specimen collection in PSC or in-office settings. You will interact with clients and patients professionally and handle venipuncture and processing in line with established procedures.

The role emphasizes accurate documentation, compliance with privacy and safety guidelines, and teamwork to support patient flow and service quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).
• At least 1 year of prior job-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers appropriately and maintain courtesy.
• Ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly to patients.
• Dispose of biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Enter patient/specimen/billing information accurately into PathConnect and other systems.
• Match requisition forms to specimens and prepare for transport.
• Maintain daily PSC/IOPST logs and up-to-date records.
• Perform basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
