Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or as an in-office PST, interacting with clients, patients and PathGroup staff in a professional and courteous manner. This role includes accurate specimen collection and processing, data entry, and maintaining records.

The position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to manage fluctuating patient flow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred; required in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and treats them courteously.
• Ensures all PSC phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Explains venipuncture process clearly and calms patients.
• Disposes of biohazards and contaminated sharps according to laws and policies.
• Enters patient, specimen and billing info into PathConnect and other systems.
• Maintains required records and PSC/IOPST logs; helps compile monthly statistics.
• Assists with periodic inventory counts and reports shortages.
• Performs electronic data entry and basic clerical duties.
