Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office PST setting. The role involves professional interaction with clients, patients, and PathGroup personnel, executing venipuncture and other specimen collection and processing duties per established procedures.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, collecting specimens, explaining procedures, ensuring accurate requisitions, and maintaining detailed records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and treat all clients with courtesy.
• Collect specimens (phlebotomy, urine, etc.) accurately and on time.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and reduce anxiety.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test orders.
• Enter patient and billing information into PathConnect or similar systems.
• Maintain records and logs for PSC/IOPST interactions.
• Assist with monthly statistics and basic clerical duties.
