Job summary

PathGroup in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Patient Services Technician/Phlebotomist to perform daily patient service activities in the PSC or in-office setting. You will interact with clients, patients, and staff professionally while collecting specimens and processing according to established procedures.

The role emphasizes accurate venipuncture, proper specimen handling, data entry, and adherence to safety and HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interact professionally with clients and patients.

Responsibilities

Greets customers appropriately.
Ensures all phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
Collects specimens per procedures and explains venipuncture to patients clearly and calmly.
Disposes of blood and biohazard materials per laws and policies.
Completes requisitions in PathConnect and PathGroup systems.
Enters patient, specimen, and billing information with high accuracy.
Matches requisitions to tubes and prepares specimens for transport.
Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and records.
Assists with monthly statistics and data compilation.
Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
Approves time in attendance software by noon after pay period end.
Maintains professional conduct and adheres to grooming and lab coat policies.
Communicates issues to supervisor for resolution.
Keeps facilities neat and reports repairs as needed.
Follows PPE and lab safety procedures and privacy/security policies.
