Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Patient Service Center team in Massachusetts. The role involves specimen collections, data entry, and delivering high-quality customer service at PSCs located in primary care practices or medical office buildings.

Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collections for all ages, specimen preparation for courier transport, and daily PSC operations. Prior PSC phlebotomy experience and ASCP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate’s degree welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable with minimal supervision and basic computer apps.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Previous phlebotomist experience in a patient service center preferred.
• 1+ year of lab PSC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate or enter patient demographics and insurance into the BILH system.
• Collect specimens via venipuncture or capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to BILH laboratories.
• Perform administrative tasks to open/close PSC daily.
• Assist in training PSC Phlebotomists as directed by supervisor.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor sites as needed.
• Follow departmental policies and participate in QA programs.
