Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to join a Patient Service Center in Exeter, NH. You will perform specimen collections, ensure accurate data entry, and act as the face of the BILH Laboratories to patients.

The role requires phlebotomy certification (ASCP preferred) and 1+ years’ PSC experience. Travel to multiple PSCs and doctor offices may be needed; excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or college classes welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or another accredited agency preferred.
• One or more years of experience in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Basic familiarity with computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and related services for patients.
• Validate and/or update patient demographics in the system.
• Enter demographic, insurance, and lab test orders accurately.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the BILH laboratory.
• Assume administrative duties to open/close the PSC daily.
• Assist in training and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists as needed.
• Travel to additional PSCs and doctor offices when required.
• Comply with policies and participate in QA programs.
