Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to collect specimens, support front-line patient service, and enter patient data accurately in the BILH system. You will work in various PSC or office settings and travel to additional sites as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, and candidates with ASCP certification or equivalent are preferred. Prior PSC/phlebotomy experience is valued, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree welcomed.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or another accredited agency preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate/update patient demographics and insurance in the BILH system; enter orders.
• Collect specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to BILH laboratories.
• Open/close the PSC and perform clerical duties as needed.
• Assist in training and mentoring PSC Phlebotomists.
• Travel to additional PSC and doctor sites as needed.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies.
• Participate in QA programs and continuing education.
