Job summary

Octapharma Plasma is actively expanding and seeks a Plasma Center Technician to support venipuncture and plasmapheresis while ensuring donor safety and regulatory compliance. You will contribute to a clean, professional environment and deliver excellent donor service across our centers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or health care environment or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must have completed documentation of training appropriate for duties, prior to performing duties independently.
  • Strong customer service skills required and ability to follow written/verbal protocol.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Able to make accurate and complete documentation.
  • Able to read and interpret safety regulations/procedures.
  • Ability to read/write/understand English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations to maintain high production standards and facility compliance.
  • Maintains high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and professional environment.
  • Reviews donor identification and maintains confidentiality per SOPs.
  • Sets up and prepares all equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis.
  • Labels and ensures units and samples are labeled accurately.
  • Executes venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety.
  • Operates plasmapheresis machines and responds to alarms and alerts.
  • Monitors donor conditions for comfort, safety, and plasma quality.
  • Maintains donor safety and product quality ratios.
  • Disconnects donor and handles disposal of biohazardous waste per safety protocols.
  • Performs calibration/maintenance of machines and replaces equipment when needed.
  • Reports unsafe situations to management and maintains inventory.
