Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist (Contract) in Shelby, NC. The role supports blood collection, specimen labeling, and associated lab duties on a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with an initial 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands all physicians' orders and matches requisitions; labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Checks test requisitions against scripts to ensure 100% correctness.
• Packages specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen samples per required temperature; complies with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
