Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a phlebotomist to support plasma donation operations in Tulsa, OK. You will perform pheresis and donor venipuncture, monitor vein performance, and ensure donor safety and product quality. Training includes SOP adherence and accurate data entry.

The role requires high school diploma, 6–12 months of phlebotomy or healthcare experience, and ability to follow safety protocols. Some duties may involve bilingual communication and cross-training across areas.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum twelve (12) months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year of experience is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure and plasma collection including donor setup, monitoring and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture on donors to begin pheresis.
• Evaluate donor vein performance and make adjustments to expedite donation and ensure quality and safety.
• Educate donors on therapeutic products from plasma and explain screening, health tests, appointment system, fees, center policies, nutrition and related information.
• Monitor for donor reactions and assist with reactions or notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during pheresis using PDA and document machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and adverse events.
• Perform calibrations and verify maintenance as per SOPs; respond to complex equipment alarms or donor issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and create incident documentation; remove/replace equipment as needed.
• Monitor donor flow on the floor to ensure turnover and alert leadership to flow issues.
• Collect arm or whole blood samples for testing.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in electronic donor information management system.
• Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and adequate supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain donor, personnel and center information confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
