Job summary

CSL in College Station, TX is seeking a donor processing technician to support pheresis operations. You will prepare the donor, donor area and equipment, and ensure the autopheresis machine is ready for the procedure. Monitor the donor and the process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete.

Qualifications

• Must have basic math calculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness and notifies staff of donor responses during or after pheresis.
• Records incidents using the PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Links equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the donor information system.
• Keeps records confidential and adheres to SOPs and safety policies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and bilingual skills may be required as needed.
