Job summary

CSL is seeking a Plasma Pheresis Technician to collect plasma from donors by performing venipuncture, monitoring the pheresis process and following SOPs.

Responsibilities include donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect, evaluating vein performance, educating donors about plasma products and center policies, recording data in the donor information system, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment to ensure a positive donor experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • For Centers located in CA the following experience is also required: Persons performing automated plasmapheresis procedures must be at a minimum state certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR Current Registered Nurse by the State of California.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process as part of donor collection.
  • Monitor pheresis process and donor status to ensure safety and product quality.
  • Educate donors on plasma products, screening, health tests, appointment system, center policies, and nutrition.
  • Record donor data in the electronic donor information management system as SOPs require.
  • Maintain clean, safe work environment and comply with HSE/OSHA policies; promote safety.
  • Respond to donor reactions and assist staff; troubleshoot equipment alarms and issues.
