Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a donor pheresis technician to perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection in a compliant environment. You will set up donors, monitor the process, perform venipuncture, and ensure donor safety following SOPs and FDA guidelines.

You will educate donors, document incidents with a PDA, handle equipment alarms, and maintain confidentiality and a clean work area while supporting overtime needs to meet center goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• External candidates must have a minimum of 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; one year preferable.
• Minimum twelve months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedures and plasma collection per SOPs, including donor setup and monitoring.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis while following FDA guidelines.
• Monitor vein performance and adjust processes to protect donor safety and expedite donation time.
• Educate donors about therapeutic products and donation process; answer questions.
• Identify and respond to donor reactions and document incidents.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process.
• Calibrate equipment and address alarms per SOPs; resolve complex issues.
• Troubleshoot equipment and replace failed components as needed.
• Manage donor flow to ensure timely turnover and notify supervisors of issues.
• Collect donor samples for testing and record donor data accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• Maintain clean work environment and stock supplies; follow HSE and OSHA protocols.
• Work overtime as needed to support center operations.
