Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician in Michigan to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process, and to monitor the donor and machine during the procedure.

You will document incidents using the PDA, link equipment to donors, and help maintain a safe, clean work environment while following SOPs and safety policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least three months of medical or health-provider experience, with basic math skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and linkage of equipment using the PDA.
• Link equipment to donors using the PDA and ensure proper documentation.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data recording in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs as applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization’s discretion.
