Job summary

CSL in Michigan is seeking a donor center technician to prepare donors, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor and the pheresis procedure, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate documentation in the donor information system.

Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean work environment, following HSE/OSHA policies, and may be cross-trained in other areas. A high school diploma and at least three months of health-care experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals that may occur during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
