Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a part-time pheresis support technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for the pheresis process at our center in Michigan. The role requires attention to safety and record-keeping using the PDA, and it involves close monitoring of donors and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least three months of medical or health-provider experience, with willingness to work overtime as needed and to maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in a medical or health-provider environment or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains awareness of donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notifies staff.
• Records incidents during the pheresis process using the PDA, including alerts and donor data.
• Links equipment and consumables to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alerts supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information system per SOPs.
• Maintains clean, efficient work environment and available supplies; follows HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintains donor, center, and personnel confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
