Job summary

CSL in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, area, and equipment for the pheresis procedure and to set up the autopheresis machine. The role requires careful monitoring of the donor and process, responding to alarms, and maintaining complete, accurate records in the donor information system.

The successful candidate will follow all HSE/OSHA policies, protect donor confidentiality, and may be cross-trained in other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three months’ work experience in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
