Job summary

CSL is seeking a donor pheresis technician in Peoria, IL. You will prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment, and you will set up the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.

You will monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete. You will document incidents using PDA and ensure accurate donor data entry, while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and donor adverse events.
• Links equipment and consumables used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor using PDA.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintains compliance with SOPs and understands policies for hyper immune programs where applicable.
• Maintains clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization’s discretion.
