CSL is seeking a pheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures in our Chicago center. The role involves handling autopheresis machines, monitoring donors during treatments, and ensuring accurate data entry in the donor information system.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least three months of health care or medical exposure, with basic math skills.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and pheresis process; responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies staff as needed.
• Uses PDA to record incidents (machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, donor adverse events).
• Links equipment and soft goods used in pheresis to the donor in the system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate donor data entry in electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follows HSE and OSHA policies; maintains safety in all actions.
• Maintains confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
