Job summary

CSL is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor and the machine, respond to alarms, and ensure safe completion of each session.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and at least three months in a medical or health environment. You will record incidents, maintain records in the donor information system, and support safety protocols and supplies to keep the center running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness and awareness to any donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during pheresis, such as machine alerts and donor events.
• Links equipment and consumables used in pheresis to the appropriate donor in the donor information system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understands policies for hyper-immune programs if applicable.
• Maintains clean, safe work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintains donor confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required at organization’s discretion.
