Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents with PDA, including machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in PDA.
• Escalate donor flow issues to Group Leader or Supervisor when required.
• Ensure accurate donor data is recorded in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Comply with HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
