Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a diligent donor pheresis technician to support donor programs in North Carolina. You will prepare donor areas, equipment, and autopheresis machines, and monitor donors during the procedure.

Responsibilities include documenting incidents with a PDA, maintaining data accuracy in the donor information system, and upholding strict safety and confidentiality policies. Cross-training and bilingual capabilities may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in a medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA and link equipment to the donor.
• Link equipment and consumables to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Follow policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
