Job summary

CSL in Burlington, NC seeks an apheresis support staff member to prepare donors, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. You will ready the autopheresis machine, monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms and disconnect the donor when complete.

You will use a Personal Digital Assistant to document incidents, link equipment to donors, and ensure accurate donor data in the electronic donor information management system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical or health provider environment preferred.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness for donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Use PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the PDA system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies; maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Maintain donor, personnel, and center information confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
