Job summary

CSL Vifor in Raleigh is seeking a pheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures. You will monitor donors, respond to alarms, and ensure accurate data recording in the donor information system under SOPs.

The role requires attention to safety, precise documentation, and potential cross-training in other areas. Prior healthcare exposure and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents, machine alerts, alarms, and donor data using the PDA.
• Link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the donor information system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data entry in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyperimmune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and may require bilingual skills.
