Job summary

CSL Plasma in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Donor Center Technician to assist during pheresis. You will prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment, and prime the autopheresis machine for the procedure.

You will monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor when complete. You will record incidents in the donor information system and maintain safety and confidentiality per SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents, machine alerts, alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.
• Links equipment and soft goods to the donor in the PDA system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
