Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a location-based donor pheresis technician to prepare donors, areas, and equipment for the pheresis process. You will calibrate and ready the autopheresis machine, monitor the donor and process, and respond promptly to alarms or signals while ensuring safety and data integrity.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and adherence to SOPs; you may be cross-trained and bilingual skills may be needed to support center operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.
• Different qualifications or responsibilities may apply based on local legal and/or educational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Preparing the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitoring the donor and the pheresis process and responding to alarms or signals.
• Disconnecting the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintaining alertness to donor reactions and notifying appropriate staff.
• Recording incidents and linking equipment in the donor information system using a PDA.
• Linking equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alerting Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensuring accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information management system according to SOPs.
• Understanding policies for hyper immune programs where applicable.
• Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following OSHA and health/safety policies.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
