Job summary

CSL Plasma in Lawrence, KS is seeking a dedicated team member to support donor pheresis operations. You will prep the donor, donor area and equipment, and configure the autopheresis machine to begin the process.

During the procedure you will monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms, disconnect the donor when complete, and record incidents on the PDA while linking equipment to the donor in the management system. All SOPs, safety, and confidentiality requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 months work experience in a medical or health setting.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff as needed.
• Use the PDA to record incidents, alarms, and data related to the procedure.
• Link equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data recording in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Follow policies related to hyper immune programs and maintain confidentiality.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
