Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative team. You will contribute to building a service‑minded Pharmacy that develops strong patient relationships and safe, accurate care.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, processing orders in person and by phone, assisting with inventory, and supporting the pharmacist in delivering high quality patient service while complying with state and federal policies.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 0 to 6 months
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
• Age: 18 years or older

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile at all pharmacy entry points.
• Process orders in person and by phone, direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for drop-off, will call, drive thru, and order receiving, including patient search and profile lookup.
