Giant Eagle is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative pharmacy team. You will help build a service-conscious environment that focuses on safe, accurate and efficient care for patients and strong relationships with customers.

In this trainee role, you will support pharmacists, process prescriptions, greet patients, handle in-person and phone orders, and help with inventory and compliance tasks, while learning and growing within a regulated, patient-centered setting.

Qualifications

• Experience: 0–6 months.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients with compassion at pharmacy entry points.
• Process orders in person and by phone; direct questions to the pharmacist as needed.
• Maintain a neat, clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions (search profiles, fill dates, check inventory, quote cash prices, etc.).
• Support company initiatives and complete required training and exams.
• Follow all policy, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements; handle transactions at point of sale.
