Job summary

Capital Health seeks a Pharmacy Technician in the Emergency Department to obtain medication histories from patients, families, or external sources and document in the EHR for pharmacist review. You will collaborate with ED staff, verify regimens, identify allergies, and be prepared to perform inpatient tech tasks as needed.

A CPHT certification and NJ registration within 6 months are required. The role emphasizes accuracy, patient communication, and participation in performance improvement

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) certification required.
• NJ Board of Pharmacy registration or eligibility within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed medication histories from patients, families, or external sources.
• Document current meds and allergies into EHR for pharmacist review.
• Communicate completion of medication history to ED pharmacist, physician and nursing staff.
• Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties as needed.
