Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to apply didactic knowledge in real-world practice within our retail pharmacies. Under a licensed pharmacist, you will follow a comprehensive training roadmap covering key learning experiences and work sessions across store, district, and regional operations.

You will assist in ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, engage with patients, and learn SOPs while building clinical and technical knowledge for future advancement.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• 1+ year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely and accurately.
• Follow SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
• Counsel patients when appropriate and collect medical history information to provide optimal care.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions where allowed by state law.
• Support immunization services and point‑of‑care testing as trained and certified.
• Maintain inventory activities and conduct cycle counts as directed by leadership.
• Demonstrate empathy and provide caring service to patients and colleagues.
• Travel to stores in the market to cover scheduling needs as required.
