Job summary

Ascension Health in Austin, TX, is seeking a Pharmacist to join the Inpatient Pharmacy at Dell Seton Medical Center. The role involves reviewing orders, compounding medications, educating patients and staff, and leading pharmacy technicians to maintain high operational standards.

This PRN rotating schedule supports patient care across shifts. Minimum licensure as a Pharmacist, with a Bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy; Master's or PharmD preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Pharmacist licensure or registration in good standing.
• IV Certification preferred (not required)
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders and resolve drug-related issues to support patient safety.
• Compound and dispense medications with precision for timely treatment.
• Educate patients and clinical staff on drug therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinicians to support comprehensive patient care.
• Lead technical pharmacy staff in preparation and maintenance of supplies.

Education

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy

• Compound and dispense medications with precision to ensure accurate and timely treatment delivery for our patients.
• Educate patients and clinical staff on drug therapies, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and clinicians, to streamline and facilitate comprehensive patient care.
• Lead technical pharmacy staff in the preparation and maintenance of supplies to maintain high operational standards and support pharmacy workflow.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required. Master's degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.
