Job summary

Ascension, Dell Seton Medical Center's Inpatient Pharmacy in Austin, TX, seeks a pharmacist to ensure safe medication orders, accurate dispensing, and patient/staff education. The role requires pharmacy licensure and a PharmD or equivalent, with PGY1 preferred.

Join a multidisciplinary team, lead pharmacy staff, and support high-quality patient care in a hospital setting with rotating shifts. This is a hospital-based, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure is required before hire.
• Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• IV Certification is preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Ensure patient safety by reviewing medication orders and resolving potential drug-related issues to support optimal health outcomes.
• Compound and dispense medications with precision to ensure accurate and timely treatment delivery for our patients.
• Educate patients and clinical staff on drug therapies, empowering them to make informed decisions regarding their care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and clinicians, to streamline and facilitate comprehensive patient care.
• Lead technical pharmacy staff in the preparation and maintenance of supplies to maintain high operational standards and support pharmacy workflow.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required. Master's degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.

Additional Preferences:
