Job summary

AbbVie in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor I to lead a pharmaceutical packaging team, ensuring safe operations and high-quality product delivery.

You will guide daily production, train staff, manage performance, and drive OpEx initiatives while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

This role focuses on reducing costs, improving cycle times, and building a culture of accountability and continuous learning on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; sciences or engineering preferred, pharma experience preferred.
• Packaging experience is preferred.
• Two years of manufacturing or related experience required; supervisor experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Working knowledge of safety, quality systems, and cGMPs; good writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety: Create an environment where safety is the number one priority in every activity, driving safety improvements and promoting a zero incidents culture.
• People: Deploy team members daily, delegate tasks to meet the production schedule, train staff, and conduct performance reviews.
• Operational: Coordinate shift activities to meet the production schedule and ensure smooth handovers to the next manager.
• Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance, perform material checks, line clearance, and spot checks.
• Performance: Manage cycle time and changeovers, identify improvements.
• Development: Develop direct reports with training and growth opportunities; maintain development plans.
• OpEx: Participate in process improvement initiatives.
• Waste: Generate and manage non-hazardous and hazardous waste per procedures.
