Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategic Segment Leader for Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology in the United States to drive growth within life sciences, engaging early in planning cycles to develop qualified opportunities and enable successful sales execution.

You will build executive relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech firms, CDMOs, EPCs, engineering firms, OEMs, and integrators, and support thought leadership through industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years relevant experience required.
• Minimum 5 years in business development or strategic sales.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences markets.
• Willingness to travel 40-60%.

Responsibilities

• Develop ABB's growth strategy for Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology.
• Identify and qualify opportunities before RFQ issuance.
• Build executive relationships with manufacturers, CDMOs, EPCs, OEMs and integrators.
• Support thought leadership through industry events and associations.
• Monitor biologics, cell and gene therapy, and facility investment trends.
• Coordinate cross‑business opportunities across Electrification, Motion, and Automation.
• Serve as Voice of the Market and provide sales enablement.
