Job summary

Cullman Regional is seeking a Patient Access Representative at the Cullman, AL campus. This full-time role handles patient registration, data entry, and preliminary billing support to ensure accurate records and smooth check-in processes.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–2 years of clerical experience, and the ability to interpret medical terminology. Insurance verification and hospital experience are preferred; strong customer service and computer skills are

Responsibilities

• Data collection and accurate input into the hospital registration system
• Obtains signatures on all appropriate forms and issues all required notices to the patient or appropriate family member
• Verifies insurance, identifies certification requirements, and obtains them when necessary. Notifies appropriate supervisory personnel if patient present for services and authorization is required but not on file
• Calculates estimated amount due and request payment using the hospital approved scripts
• Accurate and thorough documentation of pertinent events regarding the handling of the account, including researching prior accounts
• Demonstrates and encourages team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences
• Upholds and promotes patient safety and quality
