Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pet Care Assistant to work with the veterinary medical team in a busy hospital setting. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with examinations, and support client education on preventive care to help pets stay healthy.

The role requires the ability to multi-task, strong communication in English, and a commitment to compassionate service. Weekend and evening hours may be required, with comprehensive benefits and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to multi-task and manage several tasks with accuracy.
• Fluent English reading/writing/speaking with strong communication.
• Organizational skills to carry out assignments in a systematic way.
• Problem solving to translate issues into practical solutions.
• Strong client service skills focused on courteous, informative service.
• Ability to follow instructions and directions.
• Mathematical ability to compute rates and measure units.
• Comfort with using computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the treatment room and supplies for examinations.
• Educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans.
• Assist with restraining pets during exams and treatments.
• Run routine in-house lab tests as allowed by state rules.
• Maintain comfort and cleanliness of hospitalized pets.
• Clean and sterilize surgical suite and instruments.
• Ensure hospital cleanliness and housekeeping per protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
