Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary team in delivering quality care for pets. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist with exams, and help educate clients on preventive care. This role requires compassion for animals, strong communication, and reliable teamwork in a busy hospital environment.

Weekend and evening shifts may be required. The position emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and compassionate client service as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication and professional writing ability.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced veterinary setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Customer service orientation and empathy for clients.
• Comfort working with pets and handling routine medical tasks.
• Basic math for medical records and dosages.
• Proficiency with common computer software.

Responsibilities

• Live by the Five Principles to support the veterinary team.
• Prepare exam rooms and set up materials for veterinarians and technicians.
• Explain preventive care and wellness plans to clients.
• Restrain or handle pets during exams and procedures.
• Prepare in-house lab tests as allowed by state rules.
• Keep hospitalized patients comfortable and well cared for.
• Maintain clean surgical suite and hospital areas.
• Assist with routine housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
