Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to support the veterinary team in providing compassionate care to pets and excellent service to clients. You will prepare examination rooms, assist during procedures, perform routine lab tests, and maintain a clean, welcoming hospital environment.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to handle animals safely. Weekend and evening hours may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred, 18+ for radiography tasks.
• One year related experience preferred, customer service valued.
• Fluent English communication and basic math skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment room and medical items for examinations.
• Educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans.
• Restrain pets during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare in-house lab tests as allowed by state rules.
• Ensure comfort of hospitalized patients and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist with housekeeping and instrument cleaning as outlined.
