Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Pet Care Assistant to work with the veterinary team in a fast-paced, pet-centered environment. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist veterinarians, and help educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans.

You will support the client services team, handle routine lab tests, and ensure the hospital remains clean, safe, and welcoming for pets and their families. Weekend and evening hours are required as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform duties involving radiography.
• One year of related experience required; customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment room and medical items for examinations.
• Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or inoculation.
• Prepare in-house lab tests (e.g., heartworm, leukemia) as allowed by state rules.
• Monitor comfort of hospitalized patients and maintain clean cages and spaces.
• Bathe and dip pets to treat dermatological conditions as advised by vet.
• Maintain cleanliness of surgery and hospital areas.
