Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Territory Manager to drive profitable premium growth across assigned agency storefronts and territories. You will develop and manage broad agency partnerships, optimize territory performance, and collaborate with underwriting, claims, and product teams to support growth.

This role requires building trusted advisor relationships, a strong focus on revenue growth, and the ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance experience within a carrier or agency.
• Knowledge of company services, products, marketing techniques/principles and insurance industry trends.
• Experience with revenue growth and sales success in prior roles.
• Proven ability to develop and build partnerships, make decisions and solve problems.
• Working knowledge of production management, claims, loss prevention, underwriting, administration, sales operations and agency business operations.
• Strong written and oral communication, presentation, persuasion, timing, tact and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, business analytics and business development, plus time management and team orientation.
• Must be licensed by the state if required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Owns and manages assigned territory driving profitable growth to achieve financial and operational targets.
• Leads territory and agency management processes across multiple territories including prospecting, business planning, engagement, training, compensation and agency development.
• Establishes trusted advisor relationships while delivering product, underwriting philosophy, appetite and system training to increase agency revenue.
• Uses agency analysis, insights and market knowledge to create high-quality agency strategies for growth and profitability.
• Plans include strategic and tactical components aligned with Personal Lines or Business Lines strategies including carrier consolidation and new product rollout support.
• Under limited supervision, drives quality of new business flow, book mix and risk management for agency books and territory.
• Provides appetite clarity, addresses profit or quality concerns to ensure profitability across territory.
• Collaborates with underwriting, product management, claims, risk control to identify opportunities and share insights.
• Collaborates with Personal Lines or Business Lines counterparts for joint agency assignments.
• Utilizes programs and tools to support Independent Agent channel and agency management including marketing, development tools and data analysis.
• Provides guidance on agency initiatives and contributes ideas for continuous improvement.
