Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Perishable Department Lead to manage produce, dairy, meats, and bakery under the Store Manager. You will oversee inventory, merchandising, and customer service while enforcing safety and asset protection.

You will train associates, ensure compliance with food handling rules, and maintain stock levels using designated tools and guides. A high school diploma and 1+ year retail with supervisory experience are preferred; relocation is not available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory preferred.
• Previous lead or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of local/state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with inventory integrity and cash accountability.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using provided tools and guides.
• Train associates in perishable handling, presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns, analyze causes and take corrective action.
• Ensure customers' needs and requests are addressed promptly and courteously.
