Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Perishable Lead to manage perishables, including produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen items, while supporting inventory control, merchandising, and customer service. You will help ensure safe food handling and asset protection, training staff and maintaining stock levels across departments.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and retail/leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with cash accountability and security practices.
• Follow SOPs and company policies as outlined in manuals and communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using provided tools and guides.
• Train associates in perishables presentation, freshness and pricing standards.
• Ensure proper and safe handling of food in compliance with regulations.
• Record inventory levels and assist customers with needs and requests.
